Good Deeds

Although most people think about leadership in terms of business organizations, we all have the opportunity to inspire and lead others on an individual basis. Simply by being positive and informed, we can encourage people to fulfill their own destiny. Simple conversations provide us with this ability to impact on a daily basis.

In a more formal context, we can invest our efforts in organizations that reflect our values. Synergies can be created as thought leaders come together in efforts to reach a higher goal. I have chosen to take a leadership role with various professional, educational and cultural organizations, throughout Metro Detroit and Michigan, where I believe I can provide valuable input while establishing and fostering relationships that can inspire me to continually make a difference in the community.

These are some of the organizations I am privileged to serve:

At Orlans, we believe that active participation goes beyond just a donation – it means getting involved in community projects by helping them thrive and grow through donations, events, pro bono work and employee participation. I am proud to say that many of our employees serve on not-for-profit boards and contribute their time and talent to dozens of organizations that reflect our values. Giving back is a privilege we embrace.

Through the Orlans Good Deeds Foundation we are continually donating time, talent and financial resources for internal charitable events, such as coat drives for Beyond Basics, food drives for Gleaners Community Food Bank, or hosting Junior Achievement participants for the National Job Shadow Day.

Orlans Associates, P.C. and eTitle, has partnered with Operation Homefront and its principal partners to provide mortgage free homes to the nation’s wounded veterans. Operation Homefront, based in San Antonio, TX, is the sponsor of the Homes 4 Wounded Heroes program, a renowned national military charity focused on placing eligible veterans and their families in their own home.

The program is a national philanthropic campaign, with a strong focus on injured Michigan veterans and their families, where bank-owned homes across the country are renovated and awarded to service members who were wounded in Operation Enduring Freedom or Operation Iraqi Freedom. Through a carefully crafted mentoring program, eligible veterans receive three years of family counseling and financial skills training, a program requirement seen as key to the program’s success.

“At Orlans Associates, we strive to instill a culture of giving back to the community,” said Orlans, “We are proud to be able to support the Home 4 Wounded Heroes program and demonstrate our appreciation to our wounded veterans and their families.”

Our talented attorneys and other professionals participate in industry associations like the Homeownership Preservation Foundation (HOPE), MMLA, MBA, ALTA and many state and local community bar associations. Orlans understands the significant changes occurring in the real estate industry and is committed to meeting our clients’ needs by not only participating in these organizations for our professional development, but taking a leadership role in industry committees and organizations to help shape legislation, case law and statutes.

Orlans is also proud to be a certified organization participating in the President’s Volunteer Service Award national program. This program recognizes the best in American spirit, and encourages all Americans to improve their communities through volunteer service, and civic participation.
