Linda Orlans, Appointed to the State of Michigan Building Authority

Linda Orlans, was appointed to the State of Michigan Building Authority on Friday June 19, 2015. The announcement was made by Michigan Governor Rick Snyder, where he placed his full confidence behind Ms. Orlans and the value that she will bring to the State Building Authority.

LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Linda Orlans, of Birmingham, to the State Building Authority Board of Trustees.

The five-person board oversees the State Building Authority, which issues and sells bonds and notes to acquire equipment and construct facilities.

“Linda is an experienced professional and I trust that she will be an asset to this board,” Snyder said.

Orlans is executive chair of eTitle Agency, Inc. which she founded in 1998. She serves on the board of trustees for the Detroit Institute of Arts, is a board member of Inforum and serves on the board of trustees for the Michigan Opera Theatre. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University and a law degree from Michigan State University. She fills the vacancy created by the resignation of David Trott.

Orlans will serve a four-year term expiring Aug. 21, 2019. Her appointment was subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.

Ms. Orlans currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Michigan State University College of Law, she was the first woman to be elected to the position, and she has served on the Board since 2007. Ms. Orlans also serves as a Board Member for the Executive Board The Detroit Institute of Arts and the Michigan Opera Theater and she serves on The Board of Directors for T.H.A.W. She is also the founding member of The Women Executives in Banking. Ms. Orlans received her J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law in 1987and her B.S. in 1972 from Wayne State University.
