Local Arts

When a community is moving forward and taking steps to rebuild, restore, and grow, it is important to help preserve its history and culture while still embracing the new. Keeping the arts and culture of a community in tact takes the support of a group of dedicated citizens and community leaders working towards the same goal.

As a leader in the Detroit area, having the passion for its historic arts and culture, Linda is always eager to support local organizations and events. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Detroit Institute of Arts which is not only frequented by locals, but also attracts visitors from all over Michigan, the US and beyond. Exhibits from all over the world are displayed on a regular basis, educational classes are offered for all ages and guest lecturers, films and music are always traveling through.

In addition to the Detroit Institute of Arts, Linda also dedicates her time and talents to the Detroit Opera Theater serving on the Board of Trustees. She plays a vital role in the annual Opera Ball Gala, which is the most waited for and largest fundraising event of the year, and much more. Without the support of leaders like Linda, organizations such as the DIA and the Detroit Opera Theater wouldn’t be able to remain some of the most influential landmarks in Detroit.

Linda doesn’t stop with the DIA and the Opera Theatre, she also supports The Parade Company in Detroit as a member of the Distinguished Clown Corps, attending such fundraising events as the Hob Nobble Gobble. She also supports and sponsors local events such as the Detroit Divas Concert, part of the Detroit Jazz Festival, bringing hundreds of visitors and local members to celebrate the city’s Motown history.

With such passion and drive, Linda will do what it takes to keep the art and culture of Detroit alive.
